Do you carry guilt of sin around with you? Do you feel shame? We all do, I think in my opinion. In this verse, King David had committed adultery. Prophet Nathan came to King David afterwards.
David cries to our God for His mercy. God’s tender mercies blot out David’s transgressions. David went through a hardship before his repentance. His child with Bathsheba died. This brought him to ask God to forgive hims of his sins. David asked God to blot out his transgressions, to make his sins erased.
How often do we hang on to our sin, our guilt. It weighs us down. We start to feel hopeless and stuck. We are in a place where we feel that we are drowning in our transgressions.
When we go to God and ask fo repentance, God erases our sins, our transgressions. All the guilt and shame of those sins are washed away.
If you are living with guilt or shame, I encourage you to go to our Heavenly Father and ask for forgiveness. You will be free.
Dear Heavenly Father
Thank you for allowing us to come to you for forgiveness. Thank you for taking our sins and blotting them out.
In Jesus Name
Amen
