Healing The Blind Man: Part One

As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth.  And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”  Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.  We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.  As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” John 9:1-5
Have you ever had discouragement around your heart?  The little dark place that hangs around you even when overall your life is good.  However, this little darkness hangs over your head like a dark cloud.  It can be an argument or a disagreement you had with your spouse, child, friend, or neighbor.  It can make you feel frustrated, alone, angry, embarrassed.  How do we handle the little black cloud in our life?
We go to prayer.  We ask God to help us to process the hard situations in life better.  We ask Him to shed some light on the situation so we are not in the dark being confused.  It won’t be a huge big deal.  It will be a slight shift in your thoughts that will line up with The Word.  You will have hope.
As you are gaining process in the situation you will see the strength that is growing in and around you.  This is His strength you are leaning into through this time of hardship.  Don’t’ let Satan us your situation to bring you into the darkness.  REMEMBER: Jesus is the light of the world.  He has it.  Lean into Jesus whenever a situation arises and your world seems to be getting darker.  He can handle it.
According to verse 2 in John 9, why did the disciples think this man was blind?  What did Jesus say was the real reason?
are you a person who needs to know the why to things?  I have a daughter that is this way.  It frustrates her when she doesn’t know they why or understands the why.  The disciples were wanting to blame someone for this situation.  In Jesus’s day, being blind was a sign of sin in your life.  In those days, people viewed you as being punished by God.  What a dark cloud this man must have lived under for so many years.  Yet, Jesus answered the disciples with a different light of what was going on.  This man was blind so they could witness God doing a miracle – His wonderful power.
Are willing to see things in the light of God in the world around you?
Join me tomorrow for the conclusion of the blind man.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your timing and how you know the answers to all things.  I pray that we will be content with how you are in control of all things.  Help us to see the beauty in difficult situations.
In Jesus Name
Amen
