Hold Fast to Integrity

And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?  He still holds fast his integrity, although you incited me against him to destroy him without reason.  Job 2:3

Suffering! Agony! Pain! Sorrow!  Job lived through a lot of hard things in his life.  Prior to all this, God says he is a blameless and upright man. Job fears God and turns away from evil.   He held fast his integrity.

How often have you gone through trials and not understand why?  We suffer because we are on earth. Sin is all around us.    Just as Job was tested, we can also be tested.  In those trials, are we going to turn away from God or are we going to stay faithful and stand firm on our integrity?  Are we going to be angry at God?  Are we going to blame God?

Are going to keep on trusting God in all things – the good and the bad. We grow in our faith and our trust in God when we go through hard things.  Job even though he questions things, still stood firm in his integrity.  He didn’t turn away from God.

Let’s look at Jesus.  He also went through suffering.  He was beaten and shamed and mocked.   Jesus stayed faithful and obedient to God.  Jesus kept his integrity.

Are you going through any trials, suffering, pain?  Don’t be discouraged.  Keep your eyes on God.  Take this time and press into God.  Trust him and keep the faith.  Hold fast to your integrity.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you For your love!  I pray that we will build our faith in you when we go through trials.  I pray that we will trust you and not blame you.  I pray that no matter what we go through we will choose to be upright people.

In Jesus Name

Amen
