My family and I have traveled a lot in the month of May. Some of it has been relaxing, some of it has been intense. In the first trip, we had some huge things we had to fix on our big van. We had the protection of our Triune God. I am amazed at how far we made it on our trip and nothing bad happened to us. The rotors were really bad.
In the next trip, we took was within our home state. I ask my bible study ladies to keeps us in their prayers. Our leader listen to the Holy Spirit and then shared what the Holy Spirit said to her. All she said was check tires. So I noted that and the next day told my husband that we should have our tires checked out before our trip. Well, we didn’t get that done. Oops!!
So here we are in the mountains, driving the speed limit on the interstate. We had to come to a quick slow down because of an accident. Our little van, not the big one, starting to shake. We were going downhill. We knew that this wasn’t good. We coming up with ideas of what was wrong with our vehicle. Brakes, rotors, etc. We got to a place where we could pull over and check things out. We couldn’t see anything bad. We got back on the road and drove slower. We were cautious. I looked at my husband and I said, “My friend told me to look at our tires.” So when we got to our destination for that night, we decide that we had to stay put till we could get into the shop. Hopefully, it wouldn’t take too long, we needed to make it to the purpose of going to the other side of our state.
The shop got us in right away. They had it fixed within an under two hours. We had bad brake pads and need new rotors. We decided that my friend is a good person to listen to when she speaks.
Here is the thing though, just as she pointed out. It wasn’t her. It was the Holy Spirit speaking to her to warn us. It was the Holy Spirit protecting us on the road. She used the gift that the Holy Spirit gave her. We both listened to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was with us and protected us. He guided us to a great shop.
I share this with you today since I have been writing about the Holy Spirit. I pray that you will see that the Holy Spirit is still at work today, just as he was in the Bible. I am so thankful that God sent the Holy Spirit down here on earth to be with His children.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for a wonderful weekend. I thank you for the Holy Spirit. I appreciate your plans of how things work out. For this weekend that we were safe. I do pray for the families that did get hurt on the road. I don’t know the situation, I don’t know if they are believers or not. I just ask that your hand be with them. and Your will be done.
