Therefore, since we have such hope, we are very bold. 2 Corinthians 3:12
Hope means a feeling, expectation, and desire for a certain thing to happen. What is your hope founded on? Bold means lack of hesitation or fear in the face of risk or danger.
Paul-based his hope on the new covenant. His hope was in Christ Jesus. He refers to the gospel of the law in the earlier verses (You may want to read 1 Corinthians 3:1-10). Paul had confidence in the gospel of Christ. This was the ministry of the Spirit. He had confidence in eternal life through Christ. This was the ministry that showed the way of justification. It will never be done away, but to abide forever. We have hope that the gospel brings everlasting righteousness. We can have boldness to preach the gospel. We need to share what Christ has done for us. When we share about Christ, it shouldn’t be about death and condemnation, but of the Spirit and righteousness. Use boldness of plain speech to share Christ. Speak out in truth of what the gospels say. When Christ died on the cross, the new covenant is opened. It is not veiled like the Old Covenant.
Do you have hope to speak in boldness as the Spirit leads you?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your hope. Thank you that we can have hope. We can anchor our hope in you. Please help us to have hope to speak the truth to others about you.
In Jesus Name
Amen
