For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, Colossians 1:19
The fact is Jesus is Fully God. Paul is describing the deity of Jesus in the simplest way. All the totalness and completeness of God and all his powers and characteristics dwell within Jesus Christ.
God is triune. This means that he is one God. A single being. He has revealed himself in three distinct (separate) but an interrelated and completely unified person: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is fully divine. This means fully God and equal to the other two. However, they are not three gods, but One God. Another way to explain this is “three in one, one in essence”. We must be careful, not to misinterpret this as if the one God has simply revealed himself in three different modes. The Godhead exists uniquely at the same time. They didn’t express themselves at different times in history.
The Trinity is where all three are revealed in their interrelated and unified persons. This concept of a Three in one trinity has no parallel or equivalent in the human world. The trinity is scriptural and essential to understanding the complex and multi-faced nature of God.
Jesus is fully God, God is God, the Holy Spirit is fully God. Even though the bible does not use the word trinity, the scriptures refer to them at the triune God.
Dear Heavenly Father,
You are so worthy of our praise. I thank you for how your purpose and plans are so great. I pray that we will trust your word and understand your word.
