“Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit.” says the Lord Almighty. Zechariah 4:6
How do you do with accepting help from others? Can you ask for help? Or do you stay silent but wish you had help? I struggle in this area. Unless I feel like you won’t be bothered, I struggle to ask for help. However, I have no problem jumping out and helping others.
Read Matthew 4:11. Who attended to Jesus? The angels did. They came and helped Jesus after the wilderness. Jesus accepted their assistance and comfort they came to provide to Him. He didn’t make an excuse to deny their help. He just willingly accepted since he was depleted.
The wilderness wasn’t the only time that the angels come to minister to Jesus. They came to Him in the Garden of Gethsemane. This was when Jesus was facing what was to come. The Cross, Taking on all the sin. Read Luke 22:43. An angel from heaven appeared to Him and strengthened HIm. Now read Hebrew 1:14. How are the angels described? What is their role? Angels are created spirit beings whose purpose is to worship and serve God. Read Psalm 103: 21. What are some of the keywords found in Hebrew 1:14?
Read the following passage and write down whether the passage is caring, delivering, protecting, or communicating a message: 1 Kings 19: 5-7; Psalm 91: 11-12; Hebrews 2:2, Acts 5:19. Angels may be supernatural beings with superhuman knowledge and power; however, they are not superior to Jesus. Read 1 Samuel 14:17, 20; 2 Peter 2:11 and 2 Thessalonians 1:7. Now read Galatians 6:10. Angels who serve are similar to the way we should serve one another.
Please read the following passages on how we are to serve one another. 2 Corinthians 1:4; Ephesians 4:25; Hebrews 3:13. Now, what are your thoughts and opinions about accepting help and support from others when they are offered to you?
Let’s take a little walk down into our thoughts and heart. When we offer to help others, are you silently judging or criticizing them in your head? Or are you complaining in your head? How is this helping you to accept help from others? Do you need to let your guard down to let others help you?
When we offer to help others with a joyful, serving heart and accepting other’s help and support, This is God shining in our lives. Here are some ways to support and help others: send a note, call/text, go to coffee, etc.
Who are your circle of friends in mentoring (someone who can speak truth into your life), cautious (One who helps you think through challenging details and identifies potential yellow flags), adventurous( encourages you to try new things, or gets excited with you about new opportunities), praying (Doesn’t give a lot of advice, but she’s/he’s a praying), and ride-or-die (The one whom you can trust with your deepest secrets and struggles) friends?
Jesus Accepted Help!!!! So can we!
Dear Heavenly Father,
