Do you view Jesus as God or as a disciple? Do you know that Jesus is God?
In both the Old Testament and the New Testament, the scriptures of God’s word, point and declare that Jesus is God. This is the foundation of the Christian faith and for Salvation. Without Jesus becoming man and maintaining the perfect life as a man. He could not have proved the perfect and permanent atonement for the sins fo the world. The deity of Jesus is found in the following points.
God’s Word gives Jesus names and titles only reserved for God. The first title is God, Isaiah 9:6, Romans 9:5. The second title is the Son of God, Matt. 8:29 and 16: 16-17. The third is the First and the Last, Rev. 1:17 and 22:13. The fourth is the Alpha and the Omega found in Revelation 1:8 and 22:13. The beginning and the End found in Revelation 22:13. The next one is the Holy One. This title is found in Hosea 11:9 and Acts 3:14. Another title for Jesus is the Lord. This can be found in Luke 2:11 and Acts 4:33. And the last one is Lord of all and Lord of glory found in Psalms 24: 8-10 and Acts 10:36.
Jesus receives worship as God and is addressed in prayers. This is found in John 5:23, 13:33 and Acts 7:59
Christ is given credit and roles that belong to God. This is in creation (1:3, Col. 1:16). The sustainer of all things (Col. 1:17, Hebrew 1:3). He forgives sins (Mark 2:5,10 and Luke 7:48-50).
The new testament reveals the old testament prophet truths about Christ. The name of Jesus Christ is associated with God the Father. Jesus is sinless, holy, and perfect. Jesus is proven and declared as the Son of God with his resurrection and triumph over death.
With these facts about Jesus being God, we must respond to Jesus in the same manner that we respond to God the Father. We must believe in Him, worship him, pray to him, serve him, and love him.
