Did you know that the call to a relationship with God is also a call to be missional with Him?
If you want to know God’s will, you must respond to His invitation to love Him wholeheartedly. Isn’t this exciting! God works through those who love Him and are willing to carry out His work for His kingdom purposes in the world. Are you willing to look at how God invites you to be apart of His work?
We will never be content of just knowing about God. We get to really know God is when we experience Him as he reveals himself to us. Moses asked God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” (Exodus 3:13). God responded, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: “I am has sent me to you'” Ex. 3:14. When God said He is the I am who I am, He was saying that he was the Eternal One. He will be what he will be. He is saying, “I am everything you will need.” Moses came to know God through his experience with God. He got to know God as Jehovah and Yahweh, the GREAT I AM.
Have you ever notice that in the Bible when God revealed Himself to a person, that person gave God a name or described Him in a new way. For the Hebrews, a person’s name represented his character or described his nature. We frequently see new names or titles for God following an event where a Bible character experienced God. They personally experienced God.
Have you had any experience with God? What name can you give God? I have! For me, my experience with God is I call him a friend, Counselor, advocate, protector, and Father. How do you come to know God personally and intimately?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for letting us know who you are by our experience with you. God, I pray that we will take notice of our experiences with you and be able to describe or name who you are. Thank you for letting us know who you are and not just know about you.
In Jesus Name
Amen
