Knowing God the Father

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God;  and so we are.  The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.  1 John 3:1

Are you a child of God? Do you see yourself believing that God is your father? The truth of the matter is God is our father. We are his children.  This is one of the greatest revelations in the New Testament.

As a child of God, we are chosen adopted through Jesus as his very own child. This happens when we asked Jesus to be our Lord and Savior. This is one of the highest honors of our salvation. This is a privilege, also.

Being a child of God is the basis for our faith. It’s our trust in God. Also, our hope and glory of the future. Since we are a children of God, we are heirs of God. We are co- heirs with Jesus Christ.  This means we are going to be a part of the eternal inheritance.

God wants us to know and be aware we are his children. This awareness comes from the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us to grow in God by having a deep, personal relationship with him.

As any child, there are times when we will need to be disciplined. This is also true being a child of God. There will be times where God the father will need to discipline us. This is so that we can grow spiritually mature.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for being our overall father!  Thank you for choosing us and adopting us into your royal family.  I pray that we will grow more in you and be like Jesus.

In Jesus Name

Amen
