Have you ever noticed God is at work and did not immediately identify it as God’s work?
We add confusion to what God is inviting us to. We think we need to stop and pray over it asking for more clarification, when in reality, God is already asking us to join Him. By the time we say yes, he is already gone. We need to be ready to join God, we need to know where he is working. Once we say yes, then we pray.
There are some things that only God can do. We need to learn how to identify these. No one comes to Christ except the Father draws him. No one will come to God unless the Spirit of God is at work in his life. What if a friend, neighbor, or anyone begins to inquire after spiritual things. We don’t have to question whether that is God drawing him or her. God is the only one that can do that.
Look at how Jesus went about His Father’s business. One example is when Jesus passes through a crowd. He was looking for where God was working. He noticed a man in a tree. He realized that no person would do that unless God had initiated this. So Jesus went to Zacchaeus and salvation happened. When we are saved, we enter into a love relationship with God. At this point, the Holy Spirit resides in us.
There are things that only God can do that we can not. Only God can draw people to himself. Only God can cause people to seek him. Only God can reveal spiritual truths. Only God can convict the world of guilt regarding sin. Only God can convict the world of righteousness. Only God can convict the world of judgment. When we see these things at work around us, we can be confident that we are being asked to join in God’s work.
When you know that God is asking you to join him with his work, but you have roadblocks, start praying. When you want to know what God is doing around you, you pray. Then watch what will happen next. Ask questions and then listen. Be ready to make whatever adjustments are needed when joining God.
When God speaks, he is about to accomplish His purpose. When God initiates, He completes.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I pray that we will see your work and join you. I pray that we will have confidence in you and know what your work is. I pray that we will see, pray, and listen to what you have to tell us. I pray that we will stay within your will in your work and purpose.
In Jesus Name
Amen
