God will teach and show us how to live together as the body of Christ. Have you struggle in any area of this? I think we all do. We are constantly in a struggle with our flesh and what God is asking us to do. We fight pride constantly. However, with the help of God, we can effectively live as a body and live in unity and love.
Here are a few scripture verses that we will look at today on how to relate to one another.
Romans 14:1, 12-13 – “Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. . . . each of us will give an account of himself to God. Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother’s way.” What is God’s will for relationships in this verse? We need to be patient with one another. Accept those who are weak and immature in their walk.
1 Corinthians 10:24 – “nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.” We need to be thinking of others and not ourselves. Don’t be selfish.
Ephesians 4:25 – “Each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.” God wants us to be truthful with each other in all we say. Lying only hurts in the long run.
The Bible is full of instructions for us. We need to spend time with God and His word to find those truths. God will lead you and your church to how he wants us to act and treat one another. At times it may mean that one person has to be more mature than the other. Whatever God is telling you in the situation, obey God. Take heed to what he is speaking to you. We have to remember that it is God you adds to our church, not us.
God builds his church to match his assignment for that body. This is why a pastor of a church must pay attention to each member. He needs to know what God is going to ask the church to do.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for each person you have assign to a church. I pray that we will read the scripture and know how to treat one another. I pray that we will be obedient in that. Show each of us an area in our own lives that we need to repent and change so that our body is healthy.
In Jesus Name
Amen
