But whoever drinks from the water that I will give will never get thirsty again – ever! In fact, the water I will give him will become a well of water springing up with him for eternal life. John 4:14
When one accepts Jesus as savior, we get to drink from him, and we are satisfied. This water is spiritual life. The word drink is in the imperative tense, a continual action. This is an ongoing lifestyle. This means when we ask Christ into our lives, we don’t go back to our past way of living. It means spending time with Him. It’s our only way of staying connected to Christ. We pray, read/study scripture, apply it, attend church to be edified, encouraged, and held accountable to God. This is the water. This is what will satisfy you.
Studying his word is so satisfying. It brings joy, peace, love, and understanding. It brings an intimacy with God that has a sweet aroma. I can’t wait each day when I wake up to dig into God’s word. I can’t wait to hear him respond or feel his presence. It’s the highlight of my day. Will you do this too? Drink from Jesus the living water??
Dear Heavenly Father,
I want to drink from your water daily. I pray that I will have a thirst for your presence daily. I pray that I will seek your satisfaction in my life.
