Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, be deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen Matthew 6: 9-13
Deliver us from evil:
We believers in God will always be a target of Satan’s opposition and attack. We can not deal with Satan on our own. We will need to depend on God for help. We will need to pray consistently for wisdom and strength to defeat Satan. Of course, being in victory through Christ we should be obeying what God tells us through His word and through the Holy Spirit. We need to be self-disciplined and exercise wisdom.
In Jesus Name:
When we ask something in the name of Jesus it means that we understand and aware of who he is, what he is capable of doing and what his purposes are. This means acting as his representative, with his power and authority. We give him honor. We follow his purposes in all we do.
For this reason, when we pray in Jesus name we must: reflect Jesus’ character and be consistent with his desires and purposes. We must demonstrate faith in Jesus and his authority. Also, it reveals a sincere desire to honor both God and Jesus the son.
Prayers offered with this attitude and awareness will build faith and provide a peace that God is in control and that He will do what is best in our lives. Jesus will answer prayers that line up with his purposes.
How often do you ask God for his protection against Satan?
Do you sincerely desire His will, purpose, obey God?
Do you understand and aware of who Jesus is to answer your prayer through his name?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being our protector against our greatest enemy. Thank you for giving us tools and wisdom on how to fight the fight. I pray that we will continue in your guidance and obedience to you.
In Jesus name
Amen
