These verses are about the action of love, a behavior. Most of all, it shows the character of who the Triune God is. We all have to grow in this area of love. In every situation we get into, we should use verses to guide how we are responding. We should respond in a patient, loving, kind way.
One needs to question oneself where we are at with loving others.
Are we patient?
Are we kind?
Are we envious?
Am I boasting?
Am I rude?
Am I manipulating things to go my way?
Am I irritable?
Am I frustrated?
Am I rejoicing?
Maybe if we were a little more aware of how we are thinking about a situation or someone, maybe with these verses, we would respond a little more loving like Jesus is to us. It is what he commands. He tells us to love others. He shows us how to love.
God gives us new mercy (kindness) every morning. He is patient with us when we are not ready to give up one of our sins. He forgives us all the time when we ask. God is a great example of how we should love others.
Can you ask yourself the questions above daily and check yourself?
Can you sincerely try to love others unconditionally?
Can you offer what this verse is saying?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being a loving God. Thank you for showing us how to love others. God, please tells us where in our life where we need to be more loving based on 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7.
In Jesus Name
Amen
