A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35
One of God’s commands to us is to love others. First to love other true christians. Christians who obey God and are loyal to him. We are brothers and sisters in Christ. We are to love and support one another.
Loving God and his will as revealed in His word will enable us to show God’s love. Loving God must b top priority in our life. Godly love is the mark of Christ followers. Agape love is a self-giving and sacrificial love that seeks and promotes the good of others. Relationship among all christians (also of different denominations) must show this kind of love. The outside world is watching us. If they see us not loving I agape love, they will not get the right idea of Christ’s love. This will hinder them from Christ. We, christians, must befriend each other through difficulties. Christians must be considerate towards others of feelings and reputation. We really have to stop and check ourselves before we cause strife with one another. We have to put the needs of others above our own needs.
Wow, this isn’t easy. Have you ever had to do this with another christian that you have a conflict with???
One would think it would be easy, however, it’s not. It is possible though with Jesus Christ.
Do you have a hard time loving our brothers and sisters in Christ?
Do you take time to check yourself before you face the person who offended you?
Dear Heavenly Father,
I pray that you will help us to stop and think before we stop loving others. Help Us to love others as you do. Here we offend you all the time, yet you still love us and forgive us. Thank you for all you do.
