Love Relationship With God

Do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we drink? or ‘What shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first HIs kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”  Matthew 6:31-33

Are you satisfied with your relationship with our Triune God?  Or is your heart desiring more?

Let’s take a moment and search our hearts and motives.

Would you rather have: Jesus or silver, gold, riches untold, houses, and land

Would you rather have:  Jesus or Men’s applause and worldwide fame

Would you rather have: Jesus or be the king of a vast domain

Do you really want to love the Lord with all your heart?  God does not want competitors.  Matt 6:24 says, “No one can serve two masters.  Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.  You cannot serve both God and Money.  We have to choose one or the other.  We cannot love two masters.

God created us for eternity.  Our time here on earth is for us to choose Him and to get acquainted with Him.  This is a time for Him to have the opportunity to develop your character in His image.  If you choose anything else but God, then you miss the ultimate purpose of creation.  We let the past to mold and shape our life here on earth.  God, though, uses our time here on earth to mold and shape our future usefulness here on earth and in heaven.

Do you have things in your past that have a strong limiting influence on your life today?  Some things might be a handicap, a troubled family background, failures, shame over some personal or family “secret” or such things as pride, success, fame, recognition, excessive wealth, and so forth.

Are you primarily being shaped by your past or by your future?

Are you letting your love relationship with God mold you into the person God wants you to be?

We need to begin orienting our life to that of God’s purposes.  His purposes go beyond that of our time here on earth.  It goes to eternity.  We need to be investing our life, time, and resources in things that are lasting and not things that will pass away.  We need to realize that God created us for eternity and if we don’t recognize this, we will then invest in the wrong direction.  This is why a love relationship with our God is so important.  God knows all.  He knows all that is best for each of us.  He will guide us to a life that is worthwhile.  This comes as we choose to listen to Him.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for loving us unconditionally.  I pray that we will choose you over everything else.  I pray that we can be completely satisfied with you and in your ways and the work you want us to join in with you on.

In Jesus Name

Amen
