Mary And Martha: Part 5

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, yes and forever.”  Hebrews 13:8

What will it take for you to follow God?

The week of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem to the cross and Resurrection, Mary, Martha, and Larazus were probably there that week.  They were there on the day of His crucifixion.  They were also there on His resurrection appearance over the next forty days.

Mary, Martha, and Lazarus were also part of the 120 who gathered for prayer for ten days.  On the day of Pentecost, they were, also, part of that wondrous outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  They were apart of the early church.

Are you listening to His Word as Mary, Martha, and Lazarus did?  Or are you wrapped up in insignificant things of this world?  Are you being nourished in your heart, or are you spiritually malnourished?  Do you need a spiritual examination?  This is where you examine your heart.  You take a look at where you spend your time and how you spend your life.  How much time do you spend in each of the following areas?  Bible reading, Meditating on Scripture, Prayer, Television, Small groups, videos, video games, sports activities, church activities, community events and clubs, and civic organizations?  What about things not even mentioned above?

Can you relate to Mary and Martha on having to wait on the Lord?  Are you in God’s waiting room right now? Are you uncertain when you will be moving to another area?

Are you in an area where you are having a hard time believing in God right now? Do you need an area of your life to be filled with His life?  Are you struggling with where God’s will in your life is?  Are you afraid to step into faith over it?  How is your worship of the Lord?  Is Jesus’ relationship the most valued relationship?  Do you spend time with Him?  Are you gracious in your giving?

Dear Heavenly Father,

We love you so much.  You are so worthy of our praises. I pray that we will choose to grow more in you.  I pray that we will choose you moreover other things in this world.

In Jesus Name

Amen
