Mercy

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,  Ephesians 2:4

God is rich in mercy means “in the multitude of mercy.”  He is an abundance of compassion.  He is so rich in this area that God is willing to impart it to others.  Even to those who are dead in their sin.  God is ready to forgive us when we are prepared to ask for it and change our living way.  He has so much that he blesses others.  He chooses to give us an abundance of his mercy each new day.

God has a great love for us. It is above all else.  It is the reason for salvation.  He plans to send Jesus to be among us and go through the crucifixion.  We were thought of and predestined for adoption through Jesus Christ.

While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Now that is great love.  I think of the people I “dislike or “hate”; would I  be willing to send my son to die for them?  Would I be ready to die for them?  Be honest with yourself here! I don’t know, but I am leaning more on the side of no, I wouldn’t.  God, however, did do this!  Thank goodness!!!

Do you realize how much mercy God gives to you?

Can you grasp the great love God has for you?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the richness of mercy that you bestow upon each of us.  Thank you for the great love you have for us.  Thank you for your goodness.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
