Isn’t God amazing that he will be merciful towards our iniquities! What exactly does iniquities mean? It means wickedness, sinfulness, immorality, or soul. These are some hard words to swallow. This is apart of us before Jesus Christ. Here God is telling us that He will be merciful towards our iniquities, and that he will not remember our sin anymore. How exciting is that! We get to start new because of his mercy he offers to us. Our slate is clean. It is white as snow. Again, this is all due to Jesus dieting on the cross for us, something we don’t deserve. God willingly offers us His mercy.
Offering others mercy is hard! When we have been wronged, we don’t necessarily want to show mercy to them. We tend to want to get back at them, and shame them or talk bad about them. We then want to prove our actions.
Guess what though!!! God doesn’t lash out at us. God doesn’t treat us bad. He doesn’t shame us. Instead, He is gentle and offers mercy to us. He forgets our sin. What a mighty good God we serve.
Are you willing to ask God for his forgiveness?
Are you ready to accept Him as your Lord and Savior?
Are you willing to offer mercy to others as God offers us mercy?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being merciful towards us. Thank you for not remembering our sins when as ask for forgiveness. God pray that if we need to offer mercy to others that you will help us in this area.
In Jesus name
Amen
