Jesus appeared to a lot of people. These passages speak about all the people he appeared too. I know when I share things with my friends, I want them to believe me without having to prove myself trustworthy my experience. Yet, we as humans sometimes have a hard time believing things when we don’t see it with our own eyes. Amazing how things really don’t change a lot with us humans. His disciples didn’t believe others were saying until they encounter Jesus themselves. In fact, did you see how Jesus even got after them for not believing the others? Thomas had to see him before He would ever believe it. This is when Jesus said that those you believe without seeing will be blessed! These people had harden hearts and unbelief. Jesus manifested three times to his disciples after he was raised form the dead. A question that came to my mind was “How is it that they didn’t recognize him? Now grant it I was obviously not there, but did he look different? Did he sound different. Or was it that they just didn’t expect him to be around. He they not remember what he said that He would rise on the third day?
Thank goodness that Jesus is gracious and forgiving and patient with us. Jesus is ever so gentle with us when we don’t believe or trust what He says. Or when we don’t understand the plan.
