By Faith, we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.  Hebrews 11:3

Why should we believe who God says he is?

Let’s look at Hebrews 11:3; by what means can we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command?

God doesn’t have to prove to us that He is real or that He made the universe.  Hebrews 11:6 is our answer to the question, “why does God not prove Himself or His claims.” What is the answer?  God created us to find pleasure in us, and our faith is what pleases Him most.  Our faith is God’s revelation to a lost world that He exists.  God knows who He is and what He is doing.  We don’t have to defend God.  He can handle Himself.  I mean, He is all-knowing!

Read Isaiah 40: 21-31.  Where does God sit, according to verse 22?  Look at the word “circle”.  What do you think this implies?  Now read verse 27.  Have you ever had a complaint like that? If so, when?  Paraphrase God’s general response to the complaint written in verses 28-31.

Today let’s dig a little deeper!  Let’s review Isaiah 40: 21-31.  Use the internet on this assignment.  Go to the following websites:   blueletterbible.org, biblehub.com, biblegateway.com, and studylight.org.  These sights provide resources such as word meanings, commentaries, bible dictionaries, different Bible translations, and more to help you dig deeper into the scripture.  Now choose words that you would like to have a better understanding of.  You can discover the original meanings.  Record the words you are researching.  Write down the meaning, the original  Greek or Hebrew word, and any insights or thoughts that they bring to mind.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for knowing who you are and that you know all.  I pray that we will live by faith to bring you pleasure.

In Jesus Name

Amen
