No More Remembering

‘I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.’ Isaiah 43:25

Remembering things can be so hard.  My husband and I are awful at remembering things.  We do have health issues that do affect this.  Even if we are not on top of eating healthy.  Even my kids are awful at remembering things. Or how about remembering the things that really should be forgotten?

Can you relate to any of this?  In what ways do you forget things.  Do you have a memory that works way too well?

Our memories are for us, not against us.  When we look back in our past to see what God has done in our lives, it is good.  He meets us there and shows us things that we didn’t realize at that time. We can’t change our past; however, we can learn from them and even let God show us new things about Him and ourselves.

What good news does Isaiah 43:25 bring us?   When we turn back to God, He forgives us and forgets our sins.  Praise His Holy Name for this!!

Read Hebrews 10:11-18.  What is the main point in this passage? What does Hebrews 10:17 say God will do with our sins? What does Hebrews 10:18 say?

Isn’t God’s word amazing and exciting?!  God doesn’t remember our sin because the work of the Cross already has.  Jesus dying on the Cross accomplished that.  Please know this,  discipline is to instruct us or to teach us a lesson. It is also to protect us.  Do you believe that all your sins are forgiven?

We are now going to focus on the third part of our life.  How would you characterize this period of your life?  Where did you live in this period of your life? What was the emotional and spiritual climax of this season of life? Who had the most profound influence on you during this time? How? Did you have a relationship with God at this moment in your life? How would you describe it, and how did you perceive Him?

Can you see the ways that God loved you and took care of you during this season of your life? Do you see the ways He expressed His love to you?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your amazing love for each of us.  You are so amazing.  I pray that you will help us as we walk down memory lane that you will show us what you want us to remember, and how your views are from this time.

In Jesus Name

Amen
