Offer Mercy To Others

Be merciful, as your Father is merciful.  Luke 6:36

God is a merciful God.   He is a  compassionate God.  In Ephesians 5:1, it says, “Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children.”

God show us  mercy every day, throughout the day.  Think about  everything you do, say and think!  Not perfect, Huh?  I know I am not perfect.  Some days, I am just not functioning well.  On these days  I have learned not to interact with people because sometimes my mouth doesn’t work with my Brian and I say the wrong thing not meaning too.   Boom!  I am not given mercy. I get wrath.  But let’s be honest, people don’t  offer mercy to one another.  We would rather choose to be offended and be the victim in the situation.

Yet when we do wrong to God, he offers us mercy.  Sweet, sweet mercy.  I wonder what this world would be like if we as christians would be  if we offered up more mercy to others, choosing not  to be offended at every little thing right away.  What would happen if we would go to the person and have an honest conversation with them about what was said.  Instead of making sure we point out where others have fallen short, We should offer mercy to one another.  We could keep the unity within Christ.  We use our words to hurt instead of using them to comfort and forgive.

We need to imitate God and offer mercy to others.  This verse is saying to be merciful because he is merciful to us.  Everything God does for us we should offer to others.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for being an awesome role model for us.  Help us to imitate you.  Help Us to offer mercy like you offer us mercy.

In Jesus Name

Amen
