“Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. And the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, behold, he is coming, says the Lord of Hosts. Malachi 3:1
During Malachi’s time, the people began to doubt God’s promise. Malachi reassured the people who the Messiah – the One they were waiting for – would come. God would send a messenger to prepare the way for the Messiah. This prophecy was fulfilled when John the Baptist came as the forerunner to announce Jesus Christ. The messenger of the covenant is Jesus. Jesus will make a new covenant, to have a relationship with God.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your plan of salvation that will bring us into a relationship with you. Keep us focused on You this Christmas season.
