Matthew 28:1-8; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24: 1-12; John 20: 1-10
The bodies would not be able to remain on the cross on the Sabbath. The Jews asked Pilot to break their legs, they did to the others. Jesus legs they did not because he was already dead. One of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear and at once there came out blood and water. Scripture says that his bones won’t be broken but his body would be pierced. Scripture was fulfilled yet again.
Joseph from Arimathea, also a disciple of Jesus asked the guard for Jesus body. Joseph wrapped him in clean linens. and laid him in his own new tomb. He rolled a huge stone in front of the entrance. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were there, sitting opposite of the tomb. A guard was placed in front of the tomb to guard Jesus body.
An angel came and rolled the stone away, the guards were in fear of the angels. The women realized that Jesus was gone and the angel told them to tell the Disciples to meet Jesus in Galilee. Along the way Jesus did meet up with some of us followers.
He is Risen. He conquered death and Satan. Our sins are forgiven when asked and paid for in full. God’s plan for redemption went according to plan. God made a way for us to be able to be in His presence with our sins not covered anymore, but fully wiped away. We have HOPE that one day soon Jesus is returning and taking us home.
We have been given mercy, grace, and forgiveness. All of this is rooted deep in God’s love for His children who believe in Him. That believe He is the Triune God. That He is our creator. That He is our friend.
Today we celebrate that Jesus rose from the grave. We take communion remembering what he did for our payment of our sins.
Take more time today to ponder on these things. Dig deeper than you have all week along. Let your soul touch our Triune God. Don’t let other things get in the way of you seeking God. Wait in the silence for God. He is so worth it. He is waiting for you. Sit in God’s presence and know you are loved deeply, you are adored by the God who sees you.
If you have never given your life to God, I invited you now to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Pray this prayer and live for him.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I cannot do things on my own anymore. I need you. I believe in God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I believe that Christ came to earth and died on the cross for my sins. I believe he rose again and will come back. Please forgive me of my sins. Be Lord of my life.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Here it is, the week done and over. All the hype of events is now done. We will go on our way on Monday the new work week. We are going on with our normal business of the week. I pray that he will encounter you this weekend and realize what was done for our sins. That we will turn away from our wickedness. I pray that we will live a life pleasing to you; that we will live a holy and righteous life pleasing to you.
In Jesus Name
Amen
