Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, And righteousness remain in the fruitful field. The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places, Isaiah 32:16–18
Do you have a peaceful habitation? Is it secure?
I am sure you have been hear this phrase over and over “we are living in uncertain times”. How depressing does this sound. It does not sound peaceful or secure. Well, we find our peace in God, in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit during this time is going give us peace and speak all good things about God. When the Spirit is poured out upon the land, then judgement will dwell in the wilderness and turn it into a fruitful field. This will make more fruit. Ministers will expound the law and magistrates and execute it. The judiciously and faithfully that is bad will made good and the good made better.
How during this time in our life will this be made good? Let’s get some perspective! We have more time on our hands to spend more one on one time with God. The God of peace we can give him more of our time. Write it on your schedule. If you have commuting time, guess what you don’t know (maybe), take this time to worship, pray, study the Bible, mediate on God’s word. Stop thinking that you are alone and have no one – God is right there with you. You are not alone. Take advantage of this time to slow down and build a deeper relationship with God.
Inward peace, which follows upon the indwelling of righteousness. It is itself peace, and the effect of it is quietness and assurance for ever, that is, a holy serenity and security of mind. When things look scary, we need to keep perspective. Don’t let strive hit you. Keep things quiet and you will have the peace. Don’t fall into the drama of the world. This is the effectiveness of righteousness. Even though there may be toilsome and uneasiness, put yourself under God’s protection.
Dear Heavenly Father,
What a moment of time its is in this world. People are truly terrified, and some aren’t. I pray that we will have the compassion to shower others with and be the peace in the storm the is roaring right now. I pray that we will be at peace and lean into you and trust you in all things. I pray that people will come to know you and choose to live for you.
In Jesus Name, Amen
