You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. Psalm 77:14
Do you believe that God intervenes miraculously in the life of humans?
Here are a few fundamental truths. Even though we are not in an era where miracles and wonders described our era. God still performs miracles and wonders. The Bible teaches that signs and wonders will dramatically increase in the latter days. God makes countless merciful exceptions; God reserves the right to respond readily to faith. A popular theory for the rarety of miracles today is that God no longer performs them. God is not offended when we ask him for supernatural intervention. He is pleased when we show our faith. He is not pleased when He has to prove Himself.
Do you believe that God can still do miracles? Do you have to see it to believe it? Or can you believe that God can do what He says He can do?
We need to be taught by other wiser and mature Christians. As we learn more from the Word of God about who God is. This will help grow our faith in Him.
Read Acts 17: 10-11. How are the Berean’s examples to us?
The Word of God is our only plumb line. Maturing in the Word takes time, effort, commitment, and spiritual understanding. We seek God to find Him, not to see him perform. Faith grows when we trust him and don’t have to see Him doing miracles. The Bible is filled with miracles in both the Old and New Testaments. Some eras have lots of miracles and other very few. God is never less than who He says He is. We need to believe that God still can and often does perform miracles. Even in today’s era!
Read Habakkuk 3:2. This is a prophet that cried this prayer out. God is our Lord. Yes, we can ask him for our desires and needs, though are we willing to be His servants for His will? He will meet us where we are. The people of God must start believing their God.
Read Psalm 77:13-14. When God withheld His wonders, the Hebrew people tended to think that something was wrong. They started to ask questions when they say little to no miracles or no divine intervention. We need to consider other variables as to why God is not showing his miracles, wonders, and interventions.
Read Psalm 74: 9-23. Do you hear the desperation? What is the Psalmist doing in verses 12-23. When we are obedient to God’s will, He takes care of us. He will stretch His hands out and act on behalf of His people. He has done it throughout the bible.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your miracles, signs, and wonders. Thank you for your intervention in our lives. I pray that our faith will be big enough and strong enough that you don’t have to prove anything to us for us to believe in you.
In Jesus Name
Amen
