Persevering Impact

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  Galatians 6:9

Do you ever have passion for people who are on a journey for the first time in Christ?  Have you invested in them and found how hard it can be?  However, through this, have you persevered and was faithful to God?

I will be honest!  Following God is not easy; being obedient to God and His ways is not easy.  Now let me encourage you with this though, God is so so good!  He is not leaving us when He is asking us to join Him in Is purpose and plan.  We are not doing this on our own.  He is with us every step of the way. This is where when we persevere in the hard things, we will be making an impact on God’s kingdom with His help.

The only way to get through ministry is to hear from God.  Seeking reconfirmation and then wholeheartedly persevering in what we believe He said.  We must persevere in our commitment to Jesus.  We often think we are in the right role when God is calling us to His purpose; however, it very well could be that we are in the right place but in a role that is new to us and never thought we would be in.  Keep focused on God and let Him lead you in His God story.

When we seek God, we will find Him.  When we find Him, we will find our calling.  When we find our calling, let’s persevere in it and not quit when it gets hard.  We need to learn to listen and not take control.

From the above verse, let’s look at two words: weary, well, doing, due, season.  Weary comes from the Greek word ekkakeo, and it means to be utterly spiritless, wearied out, exhausted.  Well comes from The Greek word, kalos.  The meaning is beautiful, handsome, excellent, eminent, choice, useful, genuine.  Doing comes from the Greek word poieo.  It means to make, to be the author of, the cause.  Due is from the Greek word idios.  It means about one’s self.  Last is the word season.  It comes from the Greek word kairos.  It means due measure, a measure of time.

In Galatians 6:10, who does Paul suggest we serve as often as we can in doing well? In what ways are you able to benefit those around you during this season of your life?  How about those around your community of believers? Do you feel discouraged in this season of sowing and reaping?  Or are you satisfied and encouraged?

Read Psalm 126.  How does this speak into your life?

Let’s take a walk into the fourth fifth of your life.   How would you characterize this period of your life? What are your best memories of this season?  What are your hardest?  Has God redeemed anything from this time?  Has He given you any new truths? Where is your relationship with God at?  Is it strong and healthy, or struggling, or your heart is hardening? Who has impacted you the most in this time frame?
