Read the above verse several times. We will digest this verse throughout this week.
What is at stake as we make our faith a present active particle verb? Read Ephesians 1:19. What does God choose to exert in the lives of those who continually accept the challenge to believe Him?
Read Hebrews 11:6. What are the two additional motivations for believing in God? Hebrews 11:6 uses the Greek word euaresteo. Strong’s definition of please is pleasing, well-pleasing(verb), pleasure (verb), well-pleasing, being well-pleasing, or being well pleased with a thing.
Read Revelation 4:11. Why were we created according to this verse? Now take some time and write out both verses – Hebrews 11:6 and Revelations 4:11. What are the ends and means of these two verses? Now read Romans 12:2. From these verses, what pleases God is glorified, the body is edified, our souls are satisfied, and the world is further evangelized. The main priority and purpose of our lives are to please God. It is our faith that also pleases God. To experience the fulfillment and enjoyment of God’s perfect will for our lives is having the present-active-particle believing God. The people in the “Hall of Faith” believe that the result of their lives was the pleasure of God ad the means was clearly “by faith.” How will God respond to those who believe Him and seek Him? He rewards them/us!!
When we seek God, God promises that we will find Him. With that promise, we also get rewarded. Do you see God’s heart? Do you see who He is? Yes, He asks a lot from us, but He also prepared us to do what is beyond our imagination. God is a good good father, and He wants to shower us with His blessings. He is the giver of good gifts.
What does seek mean? According to the Strong’s, seek comes from the Greek word ekzeteo. It means to seek out, search for, investigate, scrutinize, to seek out for one’s self, beg, crave, to demand back, require. Do you love this definition? I sure do! Diligently seek is a verb tense that we are highlighting and focusing on. What kind of seeking God does this verse tell us about for the verb tense that God rewards most? Please note, I do not want, but really focus on what it means to have a genuine relationship with God. Not a conditional relationship.
We can start with praying for God’s will and a heart to seek Him diligently. Start small in reading and praying to God. Over time your time with God with increase. To focus on what we get from God totally.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for wanting to have a relationship with us, your creation. I pray that each of us will seek you and grow more in you and appreciate your blessing but not focus on seeking you.
In Jesus Name
Amen
