Praise of Deliverance

The Lord lives, and blessed be my Rock, and exalted be my God, the rock of my salvation, the God who gave me a vengeance and brought down peoples under me, who brought me out from my enemies; you exalted me above those who rose against me; he delivered me from men of violence. For this I will praise you, all Lord, among the nations, and sing praises to your name.  Great salvation he brings to his king, and show steadfast love to his anointed to David and his offspring forever.   2 Samuel 22:47-51

What is an enemy?

Do you have enemies in your life?

When often view enemies as people we go to war with.  Enemies are those who do terrible things to us.  What else is there that we can view as an enemy?  Can one view an enemy from someone in the church community?  What does enemies have to do with praising  God?

This whole chapter is a psalm (song) of praise.  It’s David’s psalm of thanksgiving.  David realized that when one trusts God in duty, one can find a present help in their greatest dangers  We won’t totally be delivered from all our enemies till we get to heaven

When we receive God‘s mercies, we are to be given him the glory. When God delivered David, he (David) sang this song  (2 Samuel 22).  Well the mercy is fresh, and we are most affected by it, let the thank- offering be given from us

This portion of scripture is also recorded and Psalms 18 with a few differences. We will go through many challenges while here on earth. We will have enemies. In this time, God will be our rock. We will need to trust him with his plans and purposes.

When you are facing enemies, praise God!!

when your enemy(ies) are taken care of, praise God!!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for you deliverance from our enemies!  I pray that you show us how to see our enemies.  I pray that we will sing praises to you in all things

In Jesus Name

Amen
