It is so sweet to be able to pray to God. When we pray to God, He is near us. God is ready to hear and aid us at all times, just like he was with the Hebrew people. God was near, hearing, ready to help, interested, vigilant and active in all the details of His people. He is that way today. He is near us, He is ready to help us, He is interested in us. God is vigilant and active in all areas of our life.
Let’s look at the word Near. The Hebrew word is qarowb. It is pronounced ka-rove. The Ka is like the word caw. If you can you roll the r, and make the o the long o sound. This is an adjective. Near is either a place, a time or a personal relationship. I believe this verse is using near as in a personal relationship.
When we take the time to pray or call upon God, we get close to God. We are building our relationship with him. When we choose to go to God and not to false gods, he draws near to us.
In many versions, they use the word call instead of pray. The word Hebrew word for the call is qara. Qara is to call, call out, recite, read, cry out, proclaim. Qal is to call, cry, utter a loud sound. To call unto for help from God.
Today take some time and pray/call out to God. He is waiting to visit with you. Talk to him like you would a friend. The only difference is he knows the right way to answer you. Don’t rush him, Don’t rush your time. He might for the time being just be listening.
Do you pray often?
Do you know how to pray?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this beautiful day. I thank you that we can call on you and you are near to us. I pray that each of us will have a desire to pray more to you throughout the day.
In Jesus Name
Amen
