Do you remain in Jesus’ love? Do you struggle to remain in His love?
We don’t always see the threats to our spiritual health, which doesn’t mean that they aren’t real and shouldn’t be taken seriously. First, Peter 5:8 says, “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” We do have an enemy that is prowling around us, waiting to devour us. However, we also have a mighty Shepherd. His name is Jesus. He is a good, good shepherd who sacrificed His life for us His sheep. Jesus Christ, our savior, will not run from our predator; he will run at them!
We can find our security only through settling our souls into the sheltering presence of Jesus, our refuge, and staying put. His love is our safe place. Let’s read some scripture that teaches us about finding refuge in God.
Psalm 27: 5 – For He will conceal me in His shelter
in the day of adversity;
He will hide me under cover of His tent;
He will set me high on a rock.
Psalm 31:19-20 –
How great is Your goodness
that You have stored up for those who fear You
and accomplished in the sight of everyone
for those who take refuge in You.
You hide them in the protection of Your presence;
You conceal them in a shelter
from the schemes of men,
from quarrelsome tongues.
Nahum 1:7 –
The Lord is good,
a stronghold in a day of distress;
He cares for those who take refuge in Him.
Isaiah 25:4 –
For You have been a stronghold for the poor,
a stronghold for the needy person in his distress,
a refuge from the rain, a shade from the heat.
When the breath of the violent
is like rain against a wall,
2 Timothy 4:18 –
The Lord will rescue me from every evil work and will bring me safely into His heavenly kingdom. To Him be the glory forever and ever! Amen.
