Revival Within Me

Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?  Show us your steadfast love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation.  Psalm 85:1-2

Why do you seek God? Do you have fears in seeking God? What are your expectations? Where is your relationship with God?

we as Christ followers need to realize that we need a revival in our personal lives.  We are not only human beings that need revival. We can look into the Bible and even see if they needed God to revive them.

The Psalmist heart cried out to God to revive them again. He wanted God to show his steadfast love and to grant them his salvation. The Psalmist heart was to hear from God and to have his peace and not have the fallen away from God. Gods salvation is near to those who fear him.

in second kings 22:19, “ Because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before the Lord when heard what I spoke against this place and against us in habitants, but they would become a desolation and a curse, and you tore your clothes and whipped me. I also have heard you, says the Lord.“.  Josiah was deeply grieved over how far Judah had fallen away from God. With where you were at with God, is there anything that you should grieve over? Are you willing to be humble? True revival is a little more than a tide of a emotion. It’s about restoration and renewal, this does not require a feeling, as much as a willing and a doing. It’s mentally saying I am willing to do whatever it takes to maintain a relationship with God.  I will do.

Read Ezra 10:1-10.  It’s for his experience with Israel every Bible are godly sorrow or true remorse(9:3). This moves him to repentance(9:5-9). He doesn’t soften or diminish their sin. He prays for the Lord‘s forgiveness. Is repentance leads to restitution. He seeks God’s help (10:1), then plan of action to fix the problem (10:2-5).  Is her develops a punishment for failure (10:7-8), he then directs the people to promise to obey(10:9-12).  Finally, establish a procedure to follow(10:13,14).

Jeremiah 3:19-4:4, this passage talks about returning. This emphasis that God will not except a halfhearted surrender. He knows our heart. God‘s covenant with Abraham had stress that all people would be blessed through him. However, Judas disobedience had prevented them from being the instrument of God‘s blessing. In James 4:4-10,  changes of marital language to make the point of our love for the world. The world has replaced our first love- Christ.  God’s grace is available to us to sustain us in our relationship with God. In spite of the world we live in. The more humble  we are the more grace we get. God’s responsive to the prayers of those who humbly request the right things for the right reasons.  We need to submit to God and obey.  We need to draw near to God.  When we draw near to God, he will draw near to us.  Remember we are called to lament and mourn and weep. We are to grieve over the worldliness and sin that has overcome us.  Are you willing to weep over your sin and repent?

We all need revival. We all need to learn what revival is and how to go about revival. Join me for the next several days as we learn about revival.
