for this reason, when I could bear it no longer, I sent to learn about your faith, for fear that somehow the tempter had tempted you and our labor would be in vain. 1 Thessalonians 3:5
Satan is crafty and deceitful. He will do whatever he can to learn us away from God. Paul knew this about Satan. Jesus knew this about Satan. For the second time Paul warns the Thessalonians.
Today, people don’t believe in Satan or they take lightly of who he is. This shows their spiritual darkness and blindness to the spiritual realm. We need to realize that the spiritual realm is real. Satan is real. He is our enemy. He wants to destroy us.
The believer can know with certainty that his presence and evil work because He is mentioned in every major division of the New Testament. Satan is described as the supreme among the evil spirits. And John 1611 it says Satan is the ruler who will be judged. His activities affect things physically and spiritually. He tempted Jesus. He temps Jesus followers also.
The church is not teaching the believers how to confront and expose his authority. Satan has done a good job of deceiving people to believe that he is not a threat to us anymore. They don’t stop to be on alert for his craftiness that can take us captive spiritually. Today, some believers don’t think they need to confront or command evil spirits to relieve his condemning hold on their lives.
We have the authority to put seating in his place. Satan has already defeated, however, he still tries to take us with him. We don’t have to allow it. We need to speak against the craftiness and the reception. Christians have the power to overcome Satan and his forces of evil.
Dear heavenly father,
Thank you for defeating Satan. I pray that we will stand firm in our faith in you and we will confront Satan when he uses his craftiness and his deceitfulness on believers.
In Jesus Name
Amen
