Seeking Him

Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Matthew 3:2

Where are you at today with repenting?  Are you more willing today to be humble and repent or are you still fighting letting go of your sin?

Let’s  take time to investigate  our own heart.  Prayerfully and honestly answer the following question.

Have I ever experience the repentance that characterize genuine salvation?  Does sin in my life bother me? What is my attitude say about my sin, am I ready to forsake sin with what God has shown me?  Am I willing to call my wrongaction “sin” or call them other things such as weakness, personality traits or struggles?  Am I more concerned about grieving God than about my consequences? Am I taking responsiblity for my actions with out blaming others? Am I willing to take whatever steps to make restitution for my sin?  When was the last time i experience genuine repentance, that changed my attitude and actions? Has God brought to you a sin and you have not fully repented of?  Am I willing to have an accountability partner to help me?

What is our part in repentance? What is God’s part?  Were you honest with yourself and God?  Is God revealing any sin to you?  How are feeling about responding to God’s call to repentance?

Take a moment and pray over what was revealed to you through these questions.  Don’t hesitate on being humble before God with you sin.  Allow God to restore you!  A burden will be lifted off your shoulders.  God loves you.  He offers you grace and mercy.  He will take any sin away.  God longs for you walk in freedom, joy, and peace.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your unending love, grace, and mercy to each of us.  I pray that as we close today, that our heart will continue to be a humble heart towards you.  I pray that we will be willing to accept your call to repentance and allow you to make the changes in our lives.

In Jesus Name

Amen
