Seeking Our Triune God Daily

One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.  Psalm 27:4

How would you describe having a personal relationship with God?

Each day that we spend with God, we will have spiritual growth.  We develop a deep awareness of His love for you and your love for him.  As we grow more in God, we have more freedom from sin. As our personal relationship with God grows, the fruit of the Spirit will be more prominent in our lives.

What is having a personal relationship with God?

Well, it’s more than just having devotions.  What does it mean to have a devotional life with God?  It means spending time in prayer and God’s word alone with Him each day.  It’s an opportunity to cultivate an intimate relationship with God.  It is a lifetime of seeking Him and experiences hIm.

Spending time with God, also means, listening to him and obeying him.  It’s when we go through spiritual struggles, seeking God and asking him to reveal what needs to be revealed and repenting on that.  It’s taking responsibility for ourselves and not blaming others or making excuses.

When we make a commitment to reading God’s word, it will change us.  You will notice how much you miss God when you don’t spend your time with God.  God’s word teaches us so many things about God himself, his ways, who he is, his promises.  Psalms 42:1-2, 8  says, “As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God.  My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?   The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me— A prayer to the God of my life.

How thirsty are you for God?  Are you up to a challenge?  Read the bible every day for a year and see how your relationship with God grows!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you that you want to have a personal relationship with us.  I pray that we will thirst to spend time in your presence, Lord.  I pray that as we do, we will apply what we learn to our lives.  I pray that we will listen and obey what you speak to us.

In Jesus Name

Amen
