Jesus is Truth. He will tell us the truth about our lives—even the things we can’t do. Read the verse above again. We are meant to bear good fruit in Jesus. Jesus will tell us and show us when we are not taking good fruit in our lives. When we severe ourselves from Jesus, we will not be able to produce fruit in our lives. We need to be Tending our connection with Jesus every day.
Read Matthew 6:31-33, 14:28-31; Mark 4:19; Luke 10:38-42; Luke 18: 22-23; Galatians 1:10, 1 Peter 5:8-9, 1 John 2:9-11; 2:15-17, and Revelation 2:3-4. What do these verses say? What do they warn us to watch out for? What lesson can we learn here? Does one of these speak directly to your heart? We need to be seeking the Kingdom of God every day. We need to be careful with our desires, money, and the things that choke the words and produce no fruit. We need to trust Jesus and not doubt Him. We need to make sure that our daily responsibilities don’t interfere with our Time with Jesus. We need not store up riches here on earth. We don’t need to get people’s approval, only God’s. We need to be alert and serious, with Satan prowling around like a lion ready to devour us. Resist him and stand firm in the faith. We have to love all to be in the light; if we say we are in the light but hate others, we are not in the light. We are not to love the things of this world. Don’t let things take the place of God place in your life. Read First John 5:21.
Is there anything that can separate you from God’s love? Read Romans 8:35-39, “Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or anguish or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: Because of You,
we are being put to death all day long; we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things, we are more than victorious through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that not even death or life, angels or rulers, things present or things to come, hostile powers, height or depth, or any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!”
Dear Heavenly Father,
I pray that we will be alert of any distraction in our lives that could take your place in our lives. I pray that we will keep choosing to be connecting to you each day.
In Jesus Name
Amen
