Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 1 Timothy 4:1
How sad that there will be people who will depart from their faith! The Holy Spirit revealed and warned us that this will happen in the end times. They will reject God’s truth. This will include ministers. They will be highly gifted and empowered by God. These ministers will accomplish great things and preach messages about Christ effectively. However, in the end they will depart from God. They will give into the deception and enticement of the evil spirits and false teachings. Do you see it today happening? They will mislead others. This is so sad to me.
Then there will be the people who will depart from God because they don’t love the truth enough to defend it. The wont love the truth enough to obey it when they are in intense opposition. They wont deny the God- defying trends of the last days. This will be to their lack of devotion. The church will not tolerat the truth being spoken if it effects, challenges, or even contradicts their behavior, and/or lifestyle.
The popularity of teaching unbiblical truths is from Satan. When Christ’s second coming happens, it will preceed by an increase of satanism, spiritism, the occults, demon-possession, and deception from evil spirits. This will happen all over the world. It will even be among the people in the church. You might ask, “Then what is the point of church if we can’t trust the people?” That is a good question. However, I wont put my trust in people. Even the devoted will make mistakes. Instead, I will go to church because God asks me to. I will go to church and love on God’s people. I will love God’s truth and obey it. I will keep my eyes on God and what His word says. It is here when I know the truth that I am not let down and and protected.
If we loyal followers of God, then we are protected. We may live in a scary world now and even later in time. However, if we are loyal, devoted christians, we then have the protection of God against evil spirits. We must stand firm in His truth. We must discern those who are not speaking truth. We need to be alert to those who are deceiving us.
We, His faithful followers, must not think that rebellion and faithlessness within Christianity will prevent authentic revival or successful evangelism. We need to remember that God said taht H will save all who call on His name. He will do this for all who are faithful to him and obey him.
We don’t know the day Jesus will return. This is why we must be ready. We have to stand firm in His word. We have to be faithful, loyal, and obediant to God.
Are you ready?
Are you loyal to God and his word?
Are you looking to God or to people?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Holy Spirit. I pray that we will be devoted and loyal to you. I pray that we will stand firm on your truth.
In Jesus Name
Amen
