Spiritual Markers

““Choose twelve men from among the people, one from each tribe, and tell them to take up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, from right where the priests are standing, and carry them over with you and put them down at the place where you stay tonight.””
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭4:2-3‬ ‭

This verse is instructions God gave Joshua.  These stones were served as a sign to the Israelites. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever. These stones were to be a reminder of what shod has done for them.
A spiritual marker identifies a time of transition, decision, or direction when I clearly know that God has guided me.
Do you know what your Spiritual markers are? Do you record them on some way that is meaningful to you or maybe others?

Men of the Old Testament often serves up stone markers to remind them of their encounter of God.  Bethel (house of God) and Rehoboth (room) became reminders of God’s great activity on the midst of His people. Moses made an alter of the Lord is my banner  and Samuel named a stone Ebenezer saying ”This far has the Lord  helped us.  These stone  are a physical markers of great spiritual encounters with God. This provided an opportunity for the people to teach their children about God and what he does.

God gave and gives perspective on what He is doing.  What God did in the past he did with a kingdom purpose in mind. What God is doing in the present is in sequence with the past. It is also the same kingdom purpose in mind. The act of God builds on the past with a view toward the future.
I have made the mentally but not physically. Sometimes I think I should make physical makers.  I use those markers to remind myself of how faithful God is in those times of obeying him and his ways.  It helps keep me focus on what Hod has done and is still doing around and in me.
What are your markers?  Have you thought about this?  Ask God what he would like you to do with your markers.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for you purpose and plan. I pray that we will stop and look at the spiritual markers of our lives.  That we will take those as reminders of what you have done

In Jesus Name

Amen
