    Lives Sent

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so, I am sending you.” John 20:21 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.“I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you. I…

    The Mission Is Big

And when it was day, he departed and went into a desolate place. And the people sought him and came to him, and would have kept him from leaving them,  but he said to them, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.”  Luke 4:42-43 What are you passionate about?  We give time to those things that we are passionate about.  If you are passionate about sports, you will take the time to watch or participate in sports.  You know everything there is about that sport (s).  If you are passionate about your yard, you take the…

    Gifted to Serve One Another

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; Romans 12:6   Read 1 Peter 4:10-11: Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.  If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11:  There are different…

    Hope In A Family

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Romans 5:8 Did you ever learn the children’s song, Father Abraham?  Or do you know this song?  It was one of my favorites songs to sing in the children’s churches.  In fact, it is still one of my favorites. I teach it to all the kids in my children’s church when given the opportunity.  It goes like this:  Father Abraham had many sons, many sons had Father Abraham.  I am one of them, and so are you So let’s all praise the Lord.  The actions to this song were in verse…

    Obedience- Part 1

Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, one will obey my teaching.  My Father will love hi, and we will come to him and make our home with him.  John 14:23 God is at work in our world.  He is at work with where you are at.  God takes the initiative to invite us to join him with His work. We make the adjustments in our lives to join His work and then We get to the place of obedience.  How do you feel about obedience?  Is it hard for you to be obedient to God? We have to obey Him first.  He then will work through us.  When God does…

    Love God

Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me.  He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.  John 14:21   God is the one who takes the initiative to pursue a love relationship with you.  However, this love relationship has to be two-sided.  It can’t be one-sided. God wants you to know and worship Him.  He does want us to truly love Him, just as we truly want to be loved. According to the verse above, Who is the one who loves Jesus?  What does he have and do?  How does the…

    Rejoice In The Lord

Though the fig tree should not blossom nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fruit and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God my salvation.  God, the Lord, Is my strength; he makes my feet like the deers; he makes me tread on my high places.  Habbakkuk 3:17-19 I will rejoice in the Lord!  Habakkuk did not serve God because of what God could give him.  He personally served God because he personally knew who God is.  The sovereign…
