    Deborah: Part One

And he said, “Listen carefully, all Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat. This is what the Lord says: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast number, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.  2 Chronicles 20:15 Do you believe that God is faithful?  He is!  During the time of the Judges, Israel was walking away from God.  God remained faithful.  In Joshua’s time, they say victory after victory; in the time of Judges, it was defeat after defeat.  God was using this defeat after defeat to bring the people back to Him. “In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the world, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives, as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior.  And let not your adornment be merely external  – braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.  For in this way in former times the holy women also, who hoped in God, used o…

    Sanctifying Grace

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age.  Titus 2:11-12 Once we have received God’s saving grace, we don’t automatically become perfect christians.  We have not arrived and have it all together.  As we grow our relationship with Christ and keep him at the center of our lives and continue to seek Him for help, He is shaping us into who He wants us to be.  We need God’s grace every day to sanctify us and to conform us to the image of Christ. There are…
