God Can Do And Who He Says I Am

Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O Lord.  Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.  Habakkuk 3:2           How would you define faith?  What does Hebrews 11:1 define faith? There are two words from Hebrews 11:1, they are hoped for and unseen.  They don’t make an exact science of faith.  The less evidence of the nature of walking by faith rather than by sight has its obvious risks.  Perfectionism can be hard when we have faith.  We often have to admit that we were wrong. Failure may be painful, but…

    The Lord’s Prayer – Part 3

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.  Your kingdom comes, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.   And lead us not into temptation, be deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen  Matthew 6: 9-13 Deliver us from evil:  We believers in God will always be a target of Satan’s opposition and attack.  We can not deal with Satan on our own.  We will need to depend on God for help.  We will need to pray consistently for wisdom…

    Lord’s Prayer – Part 2

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.  Your kingdom comes, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.   And lead us not into temptation, be deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen  Matthew 6: 9-13 Your will be done: When we say “your” will be done, we are truly saying that we want God’s purpose, plans, and desires to be done in our life.  We can know His will through His word and through the Holy Spirit leading us.…

    The Lord’s Prayer -Part 1

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.  Your kingdom comes, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.   And lead us not into temptation, be deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen  Matthew 6: 9-13 Our Father in heaven Prayer is openly communicating with our Heavenly Father.  Prayer is a way to worship our Heavenly Father.  It is expressing honor and worthiness.  God is everything we could have in a father.  God will never let us down. He cares…

    Prayer

What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the Lord our God is near us whenever we pray to him.  Deuteronomy 4:7   It is so sweet to be able to pray to God.  When we pray to God, He is near us.  God is ready to hear and aid us at all times, just like he was with the Hebrew people.  God was near, hearing, ready to help, interested, vigilant and active in all the details of His people.  He is that way today.  He is near us, He is ready to help us, He is interested in us.  God is vigilant and…

    The Holy Spirit and Protection

My family and I have traveled a lot in May.  Some of it has been relaxing, some of it has been intense.  On the first trip, we had some huge things we had to fix on our big van.  We had the protection of our Triune God.  I am amazed at how far we made it on our trip, and nothing bad happened to us.  The rotors were really bad. The next trip we took was within our home state.  I ask my bible study ladies to keeps us in their prayers.  Our leader listens to the Holy Spirit and then shared what the Holy Spirit said to her.  All…

    Receiving The Holy Spirit

“How much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”  Luke 11: 9-10, 13 Are you a Christ-follower?  A believer? A Christian? God has promised the gift of the baptism of the Holy Spirit to you.  God wants you to receive His gift.  You don’t have to, and it’s not forced upon you.  It’s a gift you have to ask for. First of all, do you want the Holy Spirit?  All you have to do is pray and ask for the gift.  After you ask, keep praying until you receive it.  Sometimes it will happen all at once, and sometimes you have to wait, and…

    Reflection Day

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10 Today is Reflection Day!  I love reflection day.  It’s a time for me to go back and reflect on what God has spoken to me about.  It gives me time to pray and seek God about what he wants to change in my life.  It gives me time to make a game plan of putting action to what God is telling me and asking of me.  Reflection Day gives me a slower pace to grasp what God is telling me.  It gives me more time to…

    The Apple of God’s Eye

Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings, Psalm 17:8 When I hear the phrase apple of your eye, it makes me think of someone special to a person.  Well, according to this verse, we are!  We are special; we are loved. We are cared for by God. The Psalmist is using word pictures to teach about God’s love and care for His faithful people.  The apple of the eye is referring to the pupil of the eye.  This is a metaphor for something that is cherished and valued.  Doesn’t this make you excited that you…

    Love Is. . . .

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.  It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful but rejoices with the truth.  Love hears all things, endure all things.  Love never ends.    I Corinthians 13:4-7 These verses are about the action of love, a behavior.  Most of all, it shows the character of who the Triune God is. We all have to grow in this area of love.  In every situation we get into, we should use verses to guide how we are responding. We should respond in a patient, loving, kind way. One needs…
