    The Reason For the Season

So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, ” Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals!  You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.  And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head and you will strike his heel.”  Genesis 3:14-15 For the full context of this chapter, You may want to read the whole chapter. How many times do we read this part of the bible and we think there is nothing more to learn?  However, its the start of…

    Hope

Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold.  2 Corinthians 3:12 Hope means a feeling expectation and desire for a certain  thing to happen.  What is your hope founded on? Paul based his hope on the new covenant.  His hope was in Christ Jesus.  He is referring  to the gospel of the law in the earlier verses (may want to read 1 Corinthians 3:1-10).  Paul had confidence in the gospel of Christ.  This was the ministry of the Spirit.  He had confidence in eternal life through Christ.  This was  the ministry that showed the way of justification.  It will  never be done away, but to abide forever.…

Do Not Put Your Trust in Humans

Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.  Psalm 146:3-4 Another verse that I am thankful for. This verse speaks to me here I’m not putting our trust in high authority or in humans to save me. They can’t save me, only Jesus can. Humans tend to make promises that they can’t keep or deliver. This is hurtful and disappointing. However, God does! He has kept his promise since the beginning of time. He has kept his promises to me. His plans to come to great things.…

    God’s Help

And Joshua said to the people of Israel, “Come here and listen to the words of the Lord your God.”  And Joshua said, “Here is how you shall  know that the living God is among you and that he will without fail drive out before you the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Hivites , the Perizzites, the Girgashites, the  Amorites, and the Jebusites.  Be hold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth  is passing before you into the Jordan.  Now therefore take twelve men from each tribe a man.  And when the soles of the feet of the priests bearing the ark of the Lord, the…

Hope and Love – part 3

And endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Another spiritual blessing is hope!  In today’s society Hope is to have wishful thinking on something that might happen. However, the biblical meaning is not wishful thinking but having confidence in God concerning his promises. This makes it sure and leaves no room for doubt because it is based on God’s word.  We will experience this hope because God is “the God of Hope”. This means that he himself is the object and assurance of…

In Our Sufferings – Part 2

Through him we have also obtained access by faith into his grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,  Romans 5:2-3 The peace of God is the beginning of everything in the Christian view. They access by faith into his grace is something more then, and after the peace of God.  Because of Jesus we have grace by God. God loves each of us and offers grace to us. Paul list sufferings as one of the blessings. Suffering refers to the troubles and difficulties that may affect our lives. Such…

    His Great Mercy

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and which according to His great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.  1 Peter 1:3 God’s mercy is wonderful.  It is much-needed for our salvation.  Because of his mercy, he has caused us to be born again.  Born again is a spiritual birth – regeneration.  Regeneration is God bringing Christians to new life or born again from a previous state of separation from God. His mercy for us, while we are ignorance and guilt, depravity and weakness, shows up in His love and goodness.  It’s the…
