    Purity Of The Bride

“See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are.  For this reason, the world doesn’t know us, because it did not know him.  Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be.  WE know that, when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is.  And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”  1 John 3:1-3 Weddings!!  Aren’t they just exciting?  I love weddings.  I had mine planned since I was little,…

    Preparation Time

“And if I go and prepare for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may also be.” John 14:3 Let’s talk about one little detail about the betrothal agreement in Jewish customs.  One of the groom and bride’s things is when the groom will return for her.  During this time, the groom will go away and prepare a place for them to live or, in other words, “dwell.”  This is usually on family land.  While the groom is building a home for them, the bride is preparing her wedding garments while waiting for the groom to return.  She doesn’t know the…

    The Bridegroom’s Proposal

For this cause, a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.  This mystery is great, but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.  Ephesians 5:31-32   A groom and his bride.  A bride and her groom.   What is important about a bride and a groom?  What is God’s purpose for marriage, and what does He want us to get from this picture?  God designed the marriage relationship to be a bond of one.  An important picture of our relationship with God. Let’s read John 3:22-30.  Who is the bride?  Who is the bridegroom?  Who…

    Know The Lord

And no longer shall act one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, “Know the Lord,”  for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord, for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.  Jeremiah 31:33-24 God gave a distinctive feature of the new covenant.  A gift of a new heart and a transformed nature.  He gives this to those who surrender their lives to Him.  We get a new heart and transformed life by the Holy Spirit’s work in our life.   The Holy Spirit enables us to respond to God and gives us a desire to…

A Bondservant Trusts The Leading Of The Lord

“And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.  He will be great and will be called the Son of the Highest, and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father, David.  And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom, there will be no end.” Luke 1:31-33   Has God ever lead you to places?  Did you go willingly, or did you hesitate?  Mary would go on many journeys as she being a bondservant to the Lord.  Wherever He led, she would follow.  God had a plan for His Son, and…

    Jesus’ Mother, Mary

“When your days are fulfilled, and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. . . . I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. .  . And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you.  Your throne shall be established forever. ”  2 Samuel 7:12, 13, 16 Do you know what doulos means?  It is a greek word.  It means bondservant or slave.  A bondservant trusts the promises of the Lord. Mary And Martha: Part 5

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, yes and forever.”  Hebrews 13:8 What will it take for you to follow God? The week of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem to the cross and Resurrection, Mary, Martha, and Larazus were probably there that week.  They were there on the day of His crucifixion.  They were also there on His resurrection appearance over the next forty days. Mary, Martha, and Lazarus were also part of the 120 who gathered for prayer for ten days.  On the day of Pentecost, they were, also, part of that wondrous outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  They were apart of the early church. Are you listening…

    Mary and Martha: Part 4

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.”  Hebrews 13:8 What an exciting story of three siblings and how they follow after Jesus.  Yet, there is so much more to come.  Let’s begin our time together reading John 12: 1-2 and Mark 14:3.  What happened after they arrived in Bethany?  Now let’s read John 12:3, Matthew 26:7, and Mark 14:3.  What did Mary do?  What are the unique details about Mary that each writer gave about her? Oh, the love she has for Jesus?  It really is genuine.  It is wholeheartedly.  For one, I save and treasure anything I have that is expensive.  Mary poured the alabaster…

    Mary and Martha: Part 3

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.”  Hebrews 13:8 After waiting for two days, Jesus went to Mary, Martha, and Lazarus.  Jesus was in oneness with God, the father.  This is what he wanted for his disciples, Mary, Martha, Lazarus, and all followers.  Let’s read John 11:9-10.  Jesus began to speak to them about why He did what He did.  Jesus knew that as long as they were doing the will of the Father, they were protected. Jesus knew that Lazarus had died.  He also knew it was the will of the Father to awaken him in due time.  Read John 11:11-16.  “He said this, and…

    Mary and Martha: Part 1

She was so hungry to learn more about Jesus.  She…
