    Advent: Day Ten

In those days, Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.  (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.  Luke 2:1-3 . Proverbs 4:12 promises that “when you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble.”  God’s love ties us forward on the path He has ordained.  Joseph and Mary were not planning on a trip to Bethlehem; however, God orchestrated circumstances in their lives to fulfill the prophecies of the Messiah. God can make these promises to us because His…

    Advent: Day Four

You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.  He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.  The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.  Luke 1:31-33 Where do you put your hope in? People, animals, things?  We were made to be connected to God.  When we grow in God, we can have an unshakable belief in God.  We are created to trust God as a provider, healer, and comforter.  However, life happens, and this world sabotages our hope in…

    Good News About God’s Plans

. If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.  Romans 10:9-10 Today let’s read a few more scripture that talks about God’s plan. Read Romans 9:19-21; Proverbs 3: 5-6; Romans 9:31-32. 19 You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?” 20 But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? cWill the thing formed say to him…

    The Family Plan

. If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.  Romans 10:9-10 Do you or did you have plans one day of having a family?  We can make plans but God determines the steps.  In chapter 11 of Romans, Paul gives a brief summary of God’s family plan.  God chose Israel and grafted the gentiles.  God knew from the beginning His family plan. Read Romans 11:1-10.  According to…

    Favorable Purposes

And now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life.  . . And God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth, and to keep alive for many survivors.  So it was not you who sent me here, but God.  Genesis 45:5, 7 I don’t know about you but I have many many favorite books of the bible.  I also have many favorite bible stories from the Bible.  In the last few years, the story of Joseph has become very dear to my heart.  I mean talk about all the emotions…

Through Obedience, God Works Through You

Let him who boasts boast in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 1:31 God will accomplish through us  what He has purposed us to do when we obey God.  When we do not obey God, we will miss out on the most exciting experience of our life.  We have to allow God to work through us, so He can accomplish His purpose.   Have you allowed God to use you through your obedience? Have you been blessed by God? We will be blessed when God does a special, God – sized work through you.  Let’s look at Moses.  Moses obeyed God and God accomplished what His purpose.  Read Exodus 7:1-6.  Moses experienced…

    God Speaks Through The Church

“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:15-16‬ ‭NIV‬‬ How do you hear God’s speak today? The Holy Spirit speaks to us through God’s people which is the local church.  Many Christians believe that they don’t need the church today or that they are accountable to the  church. Yes, we have direct access to God.  Jesus is our meditator to God.  God created the…

    God’s Plans And Not Ours

I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt.  Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.  But my people would not listen to me; Israel would not submit to me.  So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.  Psalm 81: 10-12 Do you have a hard time submitting to God’s plans?  Would you rather do your plans than God’s? We all struggle with totally submitting to God’s plans.  We don’t always realize that God’s ways are the best.  We cause problems within the church when we move away from God’s plans and implement our own.  We need to…

Does it give you hope? This verse is the first hope of God’s plan to defeat the evil and restore his relationship with people.  This verse predicts the full victory of God over Satan.  Amen!!  Verse 15 is a prophecy of a spiritual conflict between the woman’s offspring (Jesus) and Satan’s evil forces.  God made a promise that Christ would be born from a woman.  he would be bruised by his unjust death on the cross.…
