    The Holy Spirit Protection

My family and I have traveled a lot in May.  Some of it has been relaxing, some of it has been intense.  On the first trip, we had some huge things we had to fix on our big van.  We had the protection of our Triune God.  I am amazed at how far we made it on our trip, and nothing bad happened to us.  The rotors were really bad. The next trip we took was within our home state.  I ask my bible study ladies to keeps us in their prayers.  Our leader listens to the Holy Spirit and then shared what the Holy…

    The Blessing of Divine Protection

He fills my life with good things. Psalm 103: 5           When you had an opportunity to serve others, did you turn it down because you were afraid of the risk?  Do you fear things you can not control if you say yes to helping others or serving in a new ministry?  Do you know what the root of this fear is?  This fear stops us from doing what God has called us to do.  I completely understand.  When we serve others in any area of our lives, we are bound to get hurt.  This is life.  Yet, we have to remember to get back up…

    Ruth: Part One

“In those days, there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.”  Judges 21:25 The days of Ruth was still the time period when the Judges ruled.  What do we know about this time period of the Judges? Read Judges 2:8-22. The cycle goes like this: disobedience, defeat, and distress, desperately crying out, deliverance, and peace back to disobedience.  This is the sin cycle in the book of Judges.  In Ruth 1:1, there is a famine in Bethlehem.  According to Ruth 1:2-3, what does this family face in Moab? What do you fin in Ruth 1:4? Marriage to a Moabite was not allowed in…

    Faith When Terrified

Then Hezekiah, the king and Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, prayed because of this and cried to heaven.  And the Lord sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty warriors and commanders and officers in the camp of the King of Assyria.  So he returned with shame of face to his own land.   And when he came onto the house of his god, some of his own sons struck him down there with their swords.  So the Lord saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all his enemies, and he provided for them on…

    Integrity Protects

Let the integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for you.  Psalm 25:21 While we are living for God and obeying His word, our integrity and uprightness preserve us.  We can trust God while we wait for him.  Let’s see what some other versions say. NIV:  May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, Lord is in you. NLV: May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in you. HCSB: May integrity and what is right,  watch over me, for I wait for you. Which version helps you understand?  Different versions can help us understand what the verse is saying.  Yesterday we learned what integrity…
