    Wilderness Trials and Lessons

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  James 1:2-3 How do you learn the best?  Is it by making mistakes? Trials? Lessons? There are five trials and three lessons that we can learn.  Jesus brings us promises and hopes no matter what we are going through. Read Job 1:1-21.   Job is known as a blameless or righteous man, which means he had integrity and stayed away from evil.  Do you wish you were like him?  I do.  He went through many, many complex trials, yet he kept…

    God Who Strengthens Me

I can do all things through Him who strengths me.   Philippians 4:13 The phrase “God only gives me what I can handle” is not correct.  I believe that God will call us to do hard things.  It can be physically, spiritually, or emotionally something hard for us to do or go through.  I can give you two scripture references that show this.  In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are put into a fiery furnace.  They served God wholeheartedly.  They obeyed God.  Depending on the version you use, the soldiers died before they even got the men into the furnace.  These three men kept walking into the furnace.  Honestly,…

    Enjoying God

After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks. About midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.  Acts 16: 23-25  Rejoice in the Lord always. I will repeat it: Rejoice! Philippians 4:4 You make known to me the path of life;     you will fill me with joy in your presence,     with eternal pleasures at your right hand.  Psalm 16:11 What do these passages teach us?  What do they teach…

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.  Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  Romans 8:38 In the messiness of your life, do you believe that God will work in the middle of it?  Have you ever seen God work in your life and wonder how it is all going to work out?  The next point is  God works with the messy parts of life for the good of those who love Him. Let’s read this passage of Romans 8:26-30.…

    When God Speaks Through Circumstances

Jesus said to them, ‘My Father It’s always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working.‘“ John 5:17 Do you struggle with your difficult or bad circumstances?  How do you deal with those situations? The Holy Spirit uses the Bible, prayer, and circumstances to speak to us, and show us the fathers will. Jesus knew what the father wanted him to do. This is how Jesus knew the father’s will for his life and daily activity.  “In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.“Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I…

    God is Compassionate and Merciful

Take, my brothers, the prophets, who have spoken in the example of suffering, affliction,  and of patience.  See, we count as blessed those who endured.  You have heard of Job’s endurance and have seen the outcome from the Lord.  The Lord is very compassionate and merciful.  James 5:10-11   To endure trials or afflictions is to be blessed.  Job, What a man! Job is known as righteous man.  ow he went through trials, affliction, and grief.  He endured  many things, and he was blessed.  Job was patient in his suffering.  He is a role model to us on how we should  be in our sufferings. Even while Job was going through his…
