“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 After waiting for two days, Jesus went to Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. Jesus was in oneness with God, the father. This is what he wanted for his disciples, Mary, Martha, Lazarus, and all followers. Let’s read John 11:9-10. Jesus began to speak to them about why He did what He did. Jesus knew that as long as they were doing the will of the Father, they were protected. Jesus knew that Lazarus had died. He also knew it was the will of the Father to awaken him in due time. Read John 11:11-16. “He said this, and…

Deborah: Part Two
And he said, “Listen carefully, all Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat. This is what the Lord says: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast number, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 2 Chronicles 20:15 Our abilities do not limit God’s power. Our talents are also not what’s makes us usable to Him. Deborah was a woman who was faithful, available and trusted in God. If we would yield to God, let His power work through us, We could be just as usable for God’s kingdom. From Judges 4:6 -7, what do we learn from Deborah concerning the details of God’s plan…

Sarah
“In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the world, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives, as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior. And let not your adornment be merely external – braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. For in this way in former times the holy women also, who hoped in God, used o…

Eve
For the creation was subjected to futility—not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it—in the hope that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of corruption into the glorious freedom of God’s children. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together with labor pains until now. Romans 8:20-22 The first woman created- Eve. She will forever be the woman first to sin, who ate the forbidden fruit. Eve was the final part of creation. Then God rested. Eve was made for Adam to be a companion. A helpmate. They were meant to complement one another where the other was weak. Their strengths…

Advent Day: Twenty-Three
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 Can we get serious for a moment and ask some hard questions? What are your beliefs based on? Truth or lies? Where do you base these truths on? Where do they come from? The Bible, the world, or our enemy, the father of lies? Read the following verses: John 8:44, “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding…

Advent: Day Twenty -One
When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born, “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written: ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.'” Matthew 2:4-6 By the time Jesus is born, the Jewish people are desperate for a political revolutionary. Yet, the way we think and how God goes about his business is different. If we expect Jesus to fit into our…

Advent: Nineteen
And all who heard it were amazed a what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorified and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. Luke 2:18-20 Mary is a good role model for us. When everything was said and done, and everyone moved on, Mary stored up these treasures in her heart and pondered on them. She treasured God’s word. What was required of Mary being the mother of the Messiah? She had courage. If we are to walk in our calling, we…

The Resurrection Life
I am the resurrection and the Life. John 11:25 Life, here on earth, can be untidy and unruly. It can be so unpredictable that our hearts can be fragile and get hurt in all of it. Life doesn’t always gives us answers to our questions. Life leaves blanks. It leaves no details. Are you a person who likes all the blanks filled and as many details as possible? I do not know how many times I have to rewind the video to a speaker just to fill in their outline and get all the great details that speak on. We don’t get all the answers, do we? There was…

Things to Hope For
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Faith is trusting God in all things. It does not base its hope on the visible circumstances but on confidence in spiritual realities. The same things that are the object of our hope are the object of our faith. We can put our hope in God even when we don’t physically see him. We have hope in God’s promises. We can lean on God. Since we have hope, we have the confidence in faith. The unseen things of hope become rare and real. Our hope in God is the faith we have that…

Against All Hope
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 Hope! What kind of hope do you have? Do you have guarded hope? Or do you have optimistic hope? Either way, there are pitfalls to both postures. IF you are overly optimistic, you might not be prepared for the outcome. However, if you don’t let yourself be too hopeful, you can miss blessings. Read Romans 4:13-25. What are you hoping for? What is the good news of hope? Paul speaks about faith, however, it brings in the connection of promises and hope. This brings us to a deeper understanding…
