              When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty, walk before me, and be blameless, that I may make my covenant between you and me, and may multiply you greatly.”  Genesis 17:1-2 Past the age of bearing children for Sarai and Abram being old, God makes a covenant with Abram.  God declares himself as God Almighty to Abram, meaning that He is all-powerful.  There is nothing impossible with God.  God Almighty can fulfill his promises even when there seems to be no way to meet them.  This is how God brings Abram’s promised son into…

    Walking With God

    And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day.  Genesis 3:8 God created Adam and Eve in his image and in a perfect love relationship with himself.  God walked in the Garden with his human creatures.  Of course, God did not have legs and literally walk with Adam and Eve, but the metaphor expresses the companionship and harmonious relationship that existed between them. The Garden was a place where Adam and Eve could meet with God any place. No specific place had to be set apart for meeting with God because every place was appropriate—that is, until the Fall. Then…
